●ジャズ史上最高のカリスマ、ジョン・コルトレーン（1926-1967）の完全未発表スタジオ録音が、録音から55年を経て奇跡の発掘！
●マッコイ・タイナー～ジミー・ギャリソン～エルヴィン・ジョーンズという通称・黄金のカルテットを率いて、1963年3月6日にニュージャージーのヴァン・ゲルダー・スタジオで行った公式セッション。
●名盤『ジョン・コルトレーン・アンド・ジョニー・ハートマン』の録音前日に行われたセッションで、充実期のカルテットの姿を余すところなく捉えた、まさに歴史的遺産！セッションの記録は残っていたものの海賊盤も含めこれまで世に出たことがなかった幻の音源。
●マスターテイク全7曲（約47分）のうち、3曲（Track 1, 3, 6）はコルトレーンの未発表のオリジナル曲。また、代表曲「インプレッションズ」とジャズ・スタンダードの「ネイチャー・ボーイ」の2曲は、ピアノのマッコイ・タイナー抜きのトリオ編成での貴重な録音。
●わずか40年の生涯ながら、ジャズ史のみならず、アメリカ・ポピュラー音楽史に偉大な功績を遺したジョン・コルトレーンの絶頂期の演奏が堪能できる、全音楽ファン必聴の作品。
