2014年ジャズ最重要作品が早くも登場！
“アメリカン・カルテット”解散から30年、キース・ジャレットの自宅スタジオでレコーディングされ大ヒットを記録したデュオ作『ジャスミン』の続編ともいえるスタンダード・デュオ作品が登場！ 今回はセロニアス・モンクの「Round Midnight」、バド・パウエルの「Dance Of The Infidels」などに加え、「My Old Flame」、「My Ship」、「It Might As Well Be Spring」、「Everything Happens To Me」、「Every Time We Say Goodbye」などのラヴ・ソングが前面に収録されており、ファンが待ちに待った充実の内容。「Where Can I Go Without You」、「Goodbye」のオルタナティヴ・テイクも収録。
「『Jasmine』が好きだった方には必ず気に入っていただける作品。僕たち2人が一緒に演奏すると、まるで2人の人が歌っているようなんだ。」と語るキース・ジャレット。それぞれの曲がもともと持っている強さを尊重して演奏されているのはもちろんだが、メロディーや詞にある陰れた部分は彼らが楽器で表現してくれる。ヘイデン曰く、「キースもよく聴き、僕も聴く。それが僕たちデュオの極意。お互いを聴くことが演奏には大事なんだ。」とのこと。本作もキース・ジャレットの自宅にあるスタジオでの録音です。
