この最重要アーティストの新作『In A Landscape』が発売されます。アルバムについてリヒターは次のように語っています。

「私にとってこの録音の音楽は両極端のものを結び付けたり調和させたりするようなものです。アコースティック楽器とエレクトロニクス、自然界と人間界、そして生命に関する大きな考えと個人的で内面的なもの。これは私が2004年のアルバム『ブルー・ノートブック』で探求し始めたことが原動力となり、この新しいプロジェクトはそのアルバムと多くのものを共有しています。ある点ではこの録音は以前の作品のテーマをもう一度見直したものですが、2024年の私たちの世界と私たちの暮らしの視点からのものです。タイトルは「Inner Landscape（内面の風景）」と聞き間違えやすいですが、この録音のいくつかの考えを指しています。タイトルの“内面の風景”の話はここまで。もう一つの風景、つまり私たちが送っている日々の暮らしの風景もこの録音にいくつかの異なる方法で含まれています。トラック間の間奏曲のような「Life Study」は私のツアー中の旅やスタジオでの日常生活からのフィールド・レコーディングです。一方楽曲自体はいつものように私が経験する私たちのここでの暮らしと日々の暮らしの今をどう理解するのか、その答えを求める私の試みです」。

マックス・リヒターは1966年ドイツ生まれ。エディンバラ大学と英国王立音楽院でピアノと作曲を学んだ後、フィレンツェでルチアーノ・ベリオに作曲を師事。2002年、オーケストラとエレクトロニクスのための『メモリーハウス』でソロ・アルバム・デビューを果たし、アメリカの「Pitchfork」によって「画期的」と評されました。その後も多くのアルバムをリリースし、ポスト・クラシカルのカリスマ作曲家として絶大な人気を集めています。
