2003年にウェストミンスター寺院聖歌隊出身者たちで結成され、2005年にイタリアのゴリツィア国際合唱コンクールで優勝して以降、イギリスを中心に活躍するア・カペラ・グループ「ヴォーチェス８」。今作は「夕べの祈り」と題し、16世紀から現代に至る様々な祈りの音楽を集めています。彼らの透明感あふれるハーモニーの美しさは息をのむほどで、一部の曲ではサクソフォンやチェロ、ハープが響きにいろどりを加えています。イギリスのクラシック音楽誌『クラシカル・ミュージック・デイリー』は「ヴォーチェス８はただものではない―― 想像力をかきたてる表現力とバランスのとれたプログラムで圧倒的な存在感を示す」と絶賛しています。
