1984年テヘランに生まれたイラン系アメリカ人チェンバロ奏者マハン・エスファハニは、2009年のロンドン・デビュー以降急速にその地位を確立しました。バロックとミニマルを対比させた衝撃的なArchivデビュー盤『現在も過去も』の絶賛に続き、DG/Archivから実に36年ぶりとなるチェンバロによる《ゴルトベルク変奏曲》をリリース。作品に散りばめられた万華鏡のような多彩な表現を、優雅な気品を湛えた躍動を以て確信に満ちた演奏で紡いでゆきます。
