"Dad In Prague (A Sudden Perspective In The Evening Time)" is a calm and melancholic solo piano piece. I wrote it for my dad, who passed away almost twenty years ago. My grandfather once told me that they went to Prague together in the late 70s and that at some point of their journey they were standing on the Charles Bridge watching the river beneath them. Decades later when I visited Prague for the first time in 2017 I went to the same bridge, touched the stones and watched the river, too. All of a sudden I felt a powerful and timeless connection between their past selves and myself. I couldn’t be there with them back in their day but I could still somehow feel their presence and the piano captures the mood of this moment.
