ジョン・ウィリアムズ、ヨーヨー・マ、ニューヨーク・フィルハーモニック／ギャザリング・オブ・フレンズ
今年2022年2月8日に90歳となった映画音楽界の巨匠ジョン・ウィリアムズと現代最高のチェリスト＝ヨーヨー・マ、そしてニューヨーク・フィルという全世界待望の顔合わせが実現！2002年2月リリースの『ヨーヨー・マ プレイズ・ザ・ミュージック・オブ・ジョン・ウィリアムズ』以来約20年ぶり＊（映画サントラを除く）の共演となる新作では、ヨーヨー・マのために作曲されたチェロ協奏曲(2021年改訂版。再録音)を筆頭に、哀愁の旋律が胸を打つスピルバーグ監督による名作「シンドラーのリスト」も収録し現在進行形の作曲家ジョン・ウィリアムズの魅力を伝える。「チェロ協奏曲」は2001年4月レコーディング・アーツ・オーケストラ・オブ・ロサンジェルスとの共演で世界初録音されている。ジョン・ウィリアムズにヨーヨーのための「協奏曲」を提案したのは小澤征爾で、初演は1994年7月7日セイジ・オザワ・ホール柿落としで行われた。
