千変万化する表現力の凄み・溢れ出るユーモア。
■現在最も刺激的な音楽を生み出し続けているパーヴォ・ヤルヴィ。彼の60歳（2022年12月30日）を記念して、国内外のオーケストラとの充実の成果を刻んだアルバムを連続リリース。
■その第1弾はドイツ・カンマーフィルハーモニー・ブレーメン（DKAM）とのハイドン。ヤルヴィとDKAMの初共演は1995年、芸術監督に就任したのが2014年で、30年近くの年月をかけてベートーヴェン、シューマン、ブラームスの交響曲全集の録音を世に問い、作品の核に迫る斬新な解釈で世界の聴衆を魅了してきました。そんなコンビが新たに着手したのがハイドンの「ロンドン交響曲集」（第93番～第104番）全12曲。これはパーヴォが長年温めてきた録音プロジェクトで、「ハイドンの交響曲に含まれる機知とユーモア、簡潔にして巧みなオーケストレーションの凄さをDKAMと改めて世に問いたい」と切望して実現するもので、録音は2019年からスタート、2023年に完了予定。
■「ロンドン交響曲集」VOL.1は、第2楽章のリズムの刻みから「時計」の愛称で知られる第101番、ティンパニのソロで始まる冒頭から「太鼓連打」と仇名がついた第103番の2曲。いずれもヤルヴィにとって初録音。
